An interesting commission in February from my friends at Ice Driver in Sweden was this restored executive hotel in the wild countryside on the border of Norway and Sweden. Bruket is situated in the small hamlet of Mitandersors. Purchased by 2003 World Rally Champion Petter Solberg, the building was restored and upgraded with modern facilities, a small conference centre and outdoor hot tub. Bruket is in a very remote location, probably a good 30 minute drive from the nearest petrol station or newspaper, so makes a perfect retreat for winter corporate events, team building or simply a very peaceful, relaxing break.
The local area is the typically beautiful combination of large lakes that freeze over in winter and extensive timber, the main industry now that steel making has died out.
