Long after it’s begun to grow colder in the UK, the Charente – now Aquitaine – area of France continues to enjoy warm sunny mornings through September and into October.
This was shot on my iPhone in panoramic mode as I was enjoying that first coffee of the day, barefoot in the garden and watching the sunrise.
Of course, anyone who’s covered basic science at school will know that ‘sunrise’ is actually incorrect. The sun isn’t rising, we are spinning towards it at around 1,000 miles per hour.
Shot on iPhone 7 Pro, I was looking at the elements of the scene I wanted to indlude and suddenly woke up – probably the coffee kicking in – and activated the panoramic mode, then processed a little in Abobe Lightroom. Technically, not that great a photo. I could have done way better with a tripod, a ‘proper’ camera and so forth. However every time I see this shot, I imagine I can feel the heat of the day beginning to build on my skin.
